Tamoxifen Citrate is the scientific name of the Nolvadex which is the general name of the compound. Nolvadex is a SERM or Selective Estrogen Receptor Modulator “Estrogen Receptor Modulator” meaning that it acts on the Estrogen Receptor. Moreover it also blocks an estrogen from estrogen receptors and, in those tissues where it is in contrast, results in reducing the tendency of a receptor to do anything. It has similar properties as of clomid. Nolvadex has is a mixed estrogen agonist/antagonist of the same type as Clomid.

If an athlete is very sensitive to estrogen he may need to begin its use soon after starting of a cycle. Sensitivity to estrogen of an individual depends on the variable factors and may also get influenced by no of factors, such as age and body fat percentage. It behaves as an agonist estrogen in some tissues and as an estrogen antagonist in others hence it can be said as it behaves selectively. Nolvadex is suppose to be the most popular ancillary drug for male steroid users who wish to avoid the estrogen like effects caused by the use of anabolic steroids (e.g. gynecomastia).

USES

Nolvadex also has the ability to increase production of FSH (follicle stimulating hormone) and LH (luteinizing hormone) in the male body. PRECAUTIONS

Women should air caution when using Nolvadex since they are more susceptible to side effects caused by reduced estrogen levels i.e. hot flashes, menstrual irregularities and complications related to the reproductive system.

DOSAGE

Men should typically take 10 to 30mg/day depending on the amount of steroid used and the length of cycle. You need to start the use of Nolvadex slowly with small doses and gradually increase it with the acceptance of your body control.
