 Albuterol
Albuterol is a
commonly prescribed bronchodilator that is used in the treatments of
airway spasms. Its generic name is Albuterol inhalation
while the drug’s chemical name is Albuterol Sulfate.
You can buy this drug under various brand names, such as Accuneb,
ProAir HFA, Proventil,
Proventil HFA and Ventolin
HFA.
Albuterol closely
resembles to Clenbuterol,
which is a reliable lipolytic (fat burn) steroid. The only difference
is that the former drug has a shorter life period than the latter one.
The most important and interesting fact about Albuterol
Sulfate is that it is available in various forms, such
as inhalers, solution (inhaled using a nebulizer), tablets and syrup.
Albuterol
Uses:
Albuterol
belongs
to the category of beta-adrenergic receptor agonists, or beta agonists
in short. Beta agonists basically stimulate beta receptors of your
body, including those on the muscles around the airways. Due to which
muscles relax which in-turn opens up the airways and allows air to get
into and through the lungs.
According to multiple
studies done on the drug, it has been reported that Albuterol
also helps in increasing strength and endurance in
humans. It has been approved by the FDA for asthmatic
treatments. The drug is prescribed in the cases of
chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.
Besides these, Albuterol
Sulfate has some effects on decreasing the activity of mast cells in
the lungs. Mast cells play an important role in inflammation and
allergic reactions. Doctors also prescribe this bronchodilator usage in
obstetrics problems. You can use it as a tocolytic to relax the uterine
smooth muscle to delay premature labour. In addition, the drug can be
aerosolized with a nebulizer for patients with cystic fibrosis.
Side
effects:
Like other medicine or
drug, Albuterol too has its own side
effects. Shivering, nervousness, headache, muscle
cramps, increased heart rate, arrhythmias, flushing, myocardial
ischaemia, palpitation, and sleep and behaviour disturbances are some
of the common side effects that you can
experience. In addition to these, in some cases, allergic reactions of
paradoxical bronchospasm, urticaria, angioedema and hypotension may
occur.
But, with little care and precautions, you can avoid these side
effects. The most important and notable thing to keep in mind about
Albuterol usage is never overdose it or avoid taking high doses, as it
may cause hypokalaemia or low potassium levels.
Warnings
and Precautions:
Being beta-adrenergic
receptor agonists, Albuterol inhalation
is not suitable for all. You should consult your doctor before starting
its use. A dose adjustment or special tests is also beneficial for you.
Avoid taking the drug or consult your doctor if you have heart
diseases, high blood pressure, heart rhythm disorder, epilepsy,
diabetes or overactive thyroid.
Besides these, Albuterol
is also quite harmful for unborn babies. You should not
take this medicien if you are a pregnant or planning to become pregnant
during treatment. Breast-feeding mothers should also avoid consuming
the drug or its any other form.
Another most important
fact about Albuterol Sulfate is that never
overdose it as it may prove fatal. This bronchodilator compound can
catch fire easily and quickly. So, do not store it in your car during
high temperature days and also do not throw an empty canister into open
flame, it may bursts.
Albuterol
Dosage:
Before you stack this drug
in your self, keep in mind that Albuterol is not
an anabolic steroid and its required
dosage vary from person to person depending upon various factors. Your
age, severity of your respiratory problem and other medications if you
are taking are some of the factors on which the dose depends a lot.
But, the most important one is the particular Albuterol product
being used by you.
Because of its stimulatory
effect, Albuterol is also used by
individuals for effective weight loss
and for improving athletic performance.
Its usage in bodybuilding world is also
reported, through very rare.
